Exposure asbestos fibers or exposure to asbestos dust particles is very dangerous that there is 92% of chance to contact a malignant cancer to the lungs called mesothelioma. Asbestos are one of the most dangerous substance that causes cancer in developed countries like the US, Canada, UK and Germany. Most people still don’t believe that asbestos fibers or even a small fragment of it when inhale can cause cancer to the lungs even though many countries in Europe and America have banned the use and production of this dangerous material.
The asbestos cancer risk is very high and according to Health and Security Executive, many state workers don’t know that asbestos still remains in most buildings where they work which are still a risk to them today. When exposure asbestos fibers are inhaled or ingested, they go and settle directly in the organs of your body system, causing some unusual problems to your health.
It is likely that asbestos can still be present in many buildings constructed or refurbished before the year 2000. Buildings which has been existing for the past 5 decades are all suspected to contain some traces of asbestos on them. Either from the kitchen, chimney, dinning, light room or places that need insulation equipment.
It has been estimated that about 500,000.00 buildings in the United State of America still contains some parts of asbestos fibers. When these kinds of building undergo repairs or maintenance, the asbestos fibres are disturbed and once they are flown into the air, if breathe, they go straight into the lungs and cause a lot of damage to the lungs or stomach linings.
Digging, cutting or drilling any part of the building with asbestos fibre can create deadly dust which can easily be inhaled. This particles are very deadly when they find their way into your lungs. Opening a window or drinking a glass of water will not protect you against the dangers asbestos dust can cause in your body system.
“We need to educate tradespeople about how asbestos and its dangers are relevant to them. We want them to change the way they work so that they don’t put their lives at risk,” says Steve Coldrick, director of the Heath and Security Executive’s Disease Reduction Programme. Asbestos still kills, try to avoid any contact with it. You can read How to protect yourself properly from asbestos fibers via this links below.
The awareness campaign on how to avoid exposure to asbestos fibers is still on, we need more hands to help spread the awareness and get people know of the dangerous implication of these deadly substance. Exposure asbestos fibers has causes a lot devastating cases of dead and situation where kids lost their parents to these type of dangerous disease simply because they are working to provide for their family.
It is now time to encourage people to check their buildings and try to uncover any material or building that has asbestos trace on them. The use of asbestos has already been ban and so the need to remove them from our home is advisable.
